Build a system and run it on the map
Pick the area, the open exposure layers, the risks and the systems; press Build. The pipeline runs in your browser and the result rises on the map.
The builder needs the page's script: choose an area, open exposure layers, risks and systems, then build.
What runs when you build
- Area
- The world on H3 resolution 2 (183 km cells), a UN M49 region or one country; a country site uses resolution 3 (69 km) around the country.
- Exposure
- People · GHSL 2025, People · WorldPop 2025, Built-up area, Ports, Airports, Roads, Railways, Rivers and lake centrelines, from Natural Earth v5.1.2 (public domain), aggregated at build time. People spreads each country's estimate over its land cells, 35 % evenly and 65 % by named places. Each layer is ranked within the area.
- Risks
- Start from any of the 120 hazard families. The run expands them along 1,052 typed Hazard Standard relations (triggers, amplifies, compounds with, reduces).
- Systems
- Hazards load the ten coupled systems by their Hazard Standard exposure shares; systems pass stress along their expected couplings for sixteen steps; resilience absorbs part of it.
- Overlay
- Each cell's impact is its ranked exposure times the stress of the systems its layers load (people: health, food, water, security, finance; built-up area: infrastructure, digital, energy, finance; ports and airports: trade; roads and railways: trade and infrastructure; rivers: water, biodiversity, food).
- Result
- Columns rise by impact, a continuous surface shows where it concentrates, and the summary counts the people in high-impact cells. Export the run as JSON.
- What it is not
- Not a forecast, an assessment or a rating of any place. NXS-GRX estimates country couplings, hazard footprints and values in an edition before any of them is published.
