- Measurement: United States 2026
- Chapter 1 · The question
What is measured
The indicators, hazards and indices in scope, with their definitions and sources.
1.1What this chapter will report
The indicators, hazards and indices in scope, with their definitions and sources.
It answers the frame question "the question" in the terms of Index Measurement, so the Collection can set it beside chapter 1 of the other desks’ editions.
1.2Where the evidence sits now
The nearest material today is chapter 1 of the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) Systems Evidence edition for United States: the coupled system. It is a cross-reference, not a copy, and it is a draft in stewardship review.
1.3Contribute to this chapter
Measurement: the index results by country and ADM level, the data releases they come from, method changes, coverage and the gaps in the data. No index value is published until an edition is released from a governed evidence cut. Material for this chapter goes to the Index Measurement desk; what belongs to another desk is forwarded, not refused.
